Shipping

We ship all around the world! Briarwick candles have been sent to over 60 countries around the world, and we are constantly adding more to our map! Our bookish candles are created, hand poured, packaged, and shipped out all from our warehouse in Simi Valley, CA, USA.

Your shipping cost is automatically calculated through our website by weight to give you the best shipping options available for your area, and you are able to choose between multiple options at checkout.

We create the scents and hand pour each individual candle and melt that leaves the Briarwick warehouse. All orders will be shipped out in the order that they are received. Please have patience and allow for longer processing times and shipping times for the holiday rush! We are a small business and hand pour our candles, so our typical processing time may lengthen from 3-5 business days to 7-10 business days during the holiday season, depending completely on order sizes and shipping backlogs! ⁠

If you ever need to get an order by a specific date, please contact us at support@briarwickcandles.com to see if we can accommodate your request. We do not guarantee delivery dates, but we will do our best to get your order to you as soon as we can!

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. If you haven’t received your order within 10 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at support@briarwickcandles.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

We do offer free US shipping for all orders over $100, no coupon code needed! As a small business, it's simply isn't feasible for us to be able to offer free international shipping, as shipping prices have gone up massively over the past few years. All shipping rates are calculated directly by the shipping companies by weight and we work hard to find the best rates possible. We know shipping can get expensive, and we truly appreciate your dedication to shopping small!

Shipping costs are automatically calculated on the checkout page once you have added all of your desired products to the cart! It is processed by the weight of the products to ship, and we have worked hard to find you the best possible shipping rates. All US orders over $100 automatically ship for free!

We are so sorry to hear that your order arrived incorrectly. We try our best to make sure that every package is perfect, but unfortunately we are all humans that work here (as much as we would love to be Fae). We are more than happy to fix your order and make sure to get you the bookish candles that you wanted! Please just email us at support@briarwickcandles.com and let us know what is missing or incorrect and we will send the correct items to you as soon as possible.

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right!

Shipping companies will often mark items as delivered while they are still on route to the destinations. We get this question quite often and we ask that you please wait 2 to 3 days after you get the delivery notification before reaching out to us. We are more than happy to work with you to ensure that you get your bookish candles!

All orders are processed within 3 to 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification via email when your order has shipped, containing a tracking number. Custom and bulk orders will take longer, usually 1-2 weeks from the date of the order.

Once your package has left our warehouse and has been scanned into the post office, Briarwick is no longer responsible for the package and you can follow your package using the tracking number that is sent to your email. We ship primarily through USPS and occasionally use UPS for larger orders.

Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Briarwick Candles is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer. Please be aware of this prior to making your purchase! It is the post office’s responsibility to contact customers about customs charges, but please keep an eye on your tracking number and follow your package to make sure that you know the status of your package.

Once the package has left our warehouse and is in the possession of either USPS or UPS, we are no longer responsible for the shipping speed or transit times. If the package is taking a significantly longer time than the tracking suggests, please reach out to us at support@briarwickcandles.com and we will contact the post office.

Returns & Exchanges

We have a 10-day return policy, which means you have 10 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, and in its original packaging. To start a return, you can contact us at support@briarwickcandles.com. If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

You can always contact us for any question regarding returns or exchanges!

We know buying candles online can be tricky, we wish you could smell them through your screen! The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. Reach out to us to start the return process!

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on samples, custom orders, sale items or gift cards.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Customers will be refunded for the cost of the products - shipping costs will not be refunded. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Product Information

We use all-natural vegan soy wax made with USA grown soy beans! Our wicks are made from cotton with interwoven paper threads, They are zinc free and clean burning. Most of our fragrance oils are Phthalate-Free and are formulated for a strong hot and cold scent throw!

Never leave a burning candle unattended, and please keep candles away from children and pets.

Always keep wick trimmed to 1/4 of an inch. This ensures your candle will not smoke or burn too quickly.

Stop burning candles once wax reaches 1/4 of an inch from the bottom of a container. Candles burned too low may cause damage to the containers or the surfaces they rest on.

Soy wax has a 'memory', which means that it remembers how it was burned before. Because of this, it is important to allow the melt pool to reach the sides of the container each time it is burned. Otherwise, tunneling will occur and you will miss out on part of your lovely candle!

Yes they are!

If burned correctly, our candles are designed to have different burn times depending on size:

  • Our 4oz tin candles have a burn time of more than 30 hours.
  • Our 8oz jar candles have a burn time of more than 50 hours.

Some frosting or wet spots may occur with your candle. This is completely normal, and a sign that it is made with natural soy wax. Neither frosting nor wet spots will effect the scent throw or burn of your candle.

A “cold throw” is the scent of the candle while unlit, and “hot throw” is the scent while it is burning.

Bulk & Wholesale

We would love to be involved in your subscription box, author promotion, or personal event! Pricing and processing time will vary depending on size of bulk order and time of year.

Everything Else

We periodically host rep searches on Instagram and TikTok (both @briarwick), so follow us there! Our rep cycles are typically three months long and vary based on seasons.

At this time, we are not donating candles for personal giveaways or for reviews. If you are another bookish business that would like to partner with us for a giveaway, please reach out to us!

We do use 100% soy wax, so if you have a soy allergy, that is something to be aware of. If you are allergic to any specific scents or fragrances, please reach out to us before ordering. We cannot guarantee that our products will be allergen friendly as we do mix all of the fragrances in the same area, but we can let you know whether the candles that you are considering contain a fragrance oil that has the allergen present.

No one can 100% guarantee that their products are pet-safe, and we completely understand the importance of making sure all of the products you use are safe for your pets and your family! Our employees all have pets in their homes and are able to use our scents without issue. Many of our customers also use our candles safely with their pets.

We also offer all of our scents as wax melts, which can be a great option with pets as there is no fire present. You do know your pets best, so if you have particularly sensitive animals at home, please use your best judgement!

You definitely can! We don't include any pricing on the packing slip, so just make sure to use your recipient's name and address when you are putting in the shipping information.

We do! Gift your special someone a chance to choose their favorite bookish candle with one of our virtual gift cards. They can be used in our shop anytime and never expire. You can buy them here.
