Shipping Policy

All orders are processed within 3 to 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.  


Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. All Domestic orders over $35 will automatically ship free using USPS Priority Mail.  


How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. If you haven’t received your order within X days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at briarwickcandles@gmail.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

International Shipping

Due to changing regulations with the EU and other countries, please place international orders through our Etsy Shop at etsy.com/shop/briarwick


Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Briarwick Candles is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer.

We have a 10-day return policy, which means you have 10 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at briarwickcandles@gmail.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and Defects

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Exceptions / non-returnable items

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on samples, custom orders, sale items or gift cards.


Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.


Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

We use all natural soy wax made with USA grown soy beans. 

Wicks are made from cotton with interwoven paper threads. They are zinc free and clean burning. 

Fragrance oils are Phthalate Free and are formulated for a strong hot and cold scent throw.


Never leave a burning candle unattended, and please keep candles away from children and pets. 

Always keep wick trimmed to 1/4 of an inch. This ensures your candle will not smoke or burn too quickly. 

Stop burning candles once wax reaches 1/4 of an inch from the bottom of a container. Candles burned too low may cause damage to the containers or the surfaces they rest on.

Soy wax has a 'memory', which means that it remembers how it was burned before. Becasue of this, it is important to allow the melt pool to reach the sides of the container each time it is burned. Otherwise, tunneling will occur and you will miss out on part of your lovely candle!

Some frosting or wet spots may occur with your candle. This is completely normal, and a sign that it is made with natural soy wax. Neither frosting nor wet spots will effect the scent throw or burn of your candle. 

We would love to be involved in your subscription box, author promotion, or personal event! Pricing and prcessing time will vary depending on size of bulk order and time of year.

SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.


SECTION 4 - SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.


Payment:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act

Our store uses Google Analytics to help us learn about store visits and the pages being viewed.

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
